Forgotten Women

It was just the smallest of stories, a sidebar on the nation page in Wednesday's SN-L, I don't even think it made the online edition. The headline:

Woman forgotten in cell. From Fayetteville, Ark., a women being held as an illegal immigrant spent four days forgotten in an isolated holding cell at a courthouse with no food, water, or toilet, authorities and the woman said.
The Bailiff put her in the cell to await transport to jail, and she was forgotten. Because of heavy snow, few staff members were in the courthouse to hear her cries.
And just when you think that this story can't be topped, in today's SN-L, same section, almost the same place, above the fold, this from Wichita, Kansas:

Woman on toilet seat for 2 years. Authorities are considering charges in the bizarre case of a woman who sat on her boyfriend's toilet for two years-so long that her body was stuck to the seat by the time the boyfriend finally called the police.
The sheriff, Bryan Whipple, said it appeared the woman's skin had grown around the seat.

Dang! A SN-L AP story with more details is here and here is another article here. And here is a link to a video: here. The couple, who have been together for 16 years, insists they have a 'normal' relationship, except it took place in the bathroom. Reports say she hid in the bathroom to avoid her relatives.
