State Faces $341 million shortfall

The SN-L's Chad Livengood reports "Gov.-elect Jay Nixon's transition office says the new administration faces a $340 million budget shortfall for the current fiscal year."

Gulp.

We are officially in a recession.

Gulp.

Meanwhile, "The City" is presenting its tax plan to voters. "We have to be real careful," City Manager Burris said. "We're trying to present this in a way so it's not seen as a threat or that we're blackmailing people into voting for it. We have a very compelling case to make."

Gulp.

Meanwhile, the bailouts continue. Except for mine.
