More Leaves From An Ozark Journal, February, 1937


Feb. 8. Took Logan George and Mrs. Heine to Houston. Louis Heine, 7 years old says I am going to preach at his funeral. Two confessions at Houston.

Feb. 10. Talks with Everett Kieth(sic) and Forest Dunnivin. Forest asked why I didn't put Houston on the Circuit. Giving Lincoln talks to several schools.

Feb. 12. A relief to learn that $300 per year payment by the Illinois forty no longer due--the aged lady died.--

Feb 13: Went to the outhouse with a Sears and Roebuck. It was cold, but business needed to be done.

Feb 14: Today is Valentine's Day, rode my mule into town, took four hours there and back, but Walgreen's was still open and I got my sweetie some chocolates.
