If You Are Not Going Through Bankruptcy And

Your Gas Pedal Sticks,

Put Car In Neutral!
Stop the car.
THEN turn off the key.

Turning off the key when the accelerator sticks will also lock the steering column and shut off the power brakes.

What's up with people not putting their cars in neutral. Plenty of news stories to tell us to.

Used to be people would confuse the gas pedal with the brake, especially in the days of those wide brake pedals.
And be stepping on the gas when they are thinking they are stepping on the brake.

That happened on the Kmart up at Sunshine and Grant several years ago.

Heck, when I was learning to drive, I was taught to put it in neutral, if brakes didn't work, use emergency brake,,
duh how dumb are Americans nowadays?

I'm not the smartest guy in the world...BUT if the accelerator sticks on my car, I'm putting the transmission in nuetral and letting the motor revolutions exceed the capabilities of the engine and spin a bearing do to over revolution....in plain English, throw it in nuetral and blow the motor.....car will not continue to accelerate then...guess I forgot that when I ordered 'hot coffee', I expected hot coffee, and if I spilled it in my lap, I would get burnt....
this might explain a few things about our society....
