Press Release - Wardell comments on the President's Budget.

Whether you support the President or not, a spending plan that once again adds another $ 1.7 or so TRILLION dollars to our debt is not only ludicrous but threatens our freedom and Nation Security.

The People in Southwest Missouri understand this simple but seemingly impossible concept for DC to understand, you can’t spend more than you make and expect to stay in business.

The U.S. pays approximately $530 billion annually just to pay the debt on what we owe and with around $ 2 trillion in income, that leaves us only $1.5 Trillion to operate government. Not counting paying down the debt, or the liabilities that Social Security and Medicare have.

Billy Long has once again shone us no leadership in even attempting to rectify this situation or for that matter, even opine.

This is in addition to his remarks in the Springfield News-Leader about what the exact cuts were going to be and he waffled by stating that it will be discussed in committee. However just days before, he was proudly banging his drum on the cuts that were accomplished. Sorry Billy, you can’t have it both ways.

Such a wise and pith comment 7:19 Anon, Obvious a wise person with your rapier like wit should be writing briefs and class work for kindergarten class in Firenzi. Or perhaps you are an agent for Pope Julius II who was equally eloquent.

1:20 bite me.

I'm sick of listening to the Republicans whine about what they're gonna do. They should shut up and put up.

Tell us where the entitlement cuts will be, come on let's hear it. Now they want the President to hold their hand while they all jump in unison into the political bloodbath that is Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid cuts. Go ahead and cut 'em you idiots.

AND while you're putting up --- let's see that replacement bill you're so proud of that no one has seen.

They're all a bunch of cowards just running their mouths for the free press.

Like I said, bla, bla, bla. It's always what their gonna do, yeah right.

Michael,

Like you, it was also obvious to me that Mr. Long while on the campaign trail had only sound bites and smart-ass remarks on issues of great importance to our nation.

Now, as a Congressman, nothing has changed.

I disagree. Something has changed in Billy Long. He went from being the citizen running for a legislator position who didn't run to a camera or microphone every time was offered, to believing in his mind he is a rock star and that his words need to be heard no matter how embarrassing they are to his constituents.

BB,
The point is what comes out of his mouth is meaningless. Regardless of your position on the availability of microphones, etc.

You are right. Nothing Billy Long says shows that he understands the issues of the day. They are Mayberry RFD sound bites, and I wonder when Southwest Missouri is going to get tired of this hick talk in Washington DC.

With that said, a lot of these idiotic sound bites weren't mentioned during the campaign because Long ran from the local press.
